Some days are stressful. Some days are not. But I’ve found that everyday is better when I’m honest with God about how I feel. New on the blog is another open prayer, one that I hope will be your prayer too. May we truly take time to be open with God. His patience never runs out.

New Post! 🌼 Prayer has been a huge part of how I’m coping with the pandemic. It’s a time when I can just sit with God and truly be honest about how I’m feeling. Today on the blog, I share a prayer that I wrote in a journal a couple of weeks ago. It’s mainly inspired by Job’s reaction to the sudden losses he faced. How have you been coping? Let’s be sure to take a break today to step away from the worry and into His arms.

Monday Morning Motivation: One thing that keeps me going is the promise of a future. It’s so hard to stay focused on my schoolwork, especially when my sisters have much more free time than I do. But, God calls us to work—diligently and honestly. It takes energy to get up early and pay attention to my online classes. But He has called to more than just passivity. He has called us to be active in the work He is doing. That work can look different for everyone but for me right now, it means I get up every morning and do the work I need to do to finish this semester. For me, it means being patient with myself and my family. It means not dwelling on all the change but focusing on the promise of the future—of the new heaven and the new earth and a time to rest perfectly and honestly with Him. Can you do this with me? Can we together decide to focus on His promise today as we go about His work?

While worship looks different right now, it’s not any less powerful. Easter is more than just traditions and family, good food and egg hunts. It’s about praising God for His beautiful and wonderful power! It’s looking at the death before us and saying, “even now, He is strong because He has overcome the grave and He will do it again.” Let’s not get overwhelmed by the moments we’ve missed but praise God for being the same powerful, loving Savior again and again.

Believe and trust. These two words are at the forefront of my sight as I try to navigate the unknowns and anxieties of this season. How can I remind myself to believe God has a plan when there is so much uncertainty? How can I faithfully trust Him in this time of fear? This is where the importance of prayer comes in. Prayer, for me, is a time of surrender, a time where I close my eyes, look to Him, and cast my burdens on His strong shoulders. Prayer redirects my thoughts and worries back to the promises that He has made for me. Will you follow me in praying today?

I challenge you and myself to cast our burdens on the Lord for He is perfectly capable and willing to carry them. May we make trusting God a habit this year.
