February Memories

Hey, guys! Happy March! The weather outside is beautiful and I’m so ready for Spring Break! February was full of fun adventures and memories. I can’t believe it all went by so quickly!

February started off great with my birthday! I hosted a vision board party, hosting two things off of my goals list for this year. I had a lot of fun hanging out with my friends and family. Shout-out to my wonderful mother who created a huge meal of tiny sandwiches for my birthday lunch!

A couple days later, I went to watch the play from my high school! It was a lot of fun and I saw a bunch of people that I know (shout-out to M, A, M, L, and H).

On the 11th, I headed over to the park with my sister to walk around and take pictures. It was so beautiful outside and it seemed that everyone was out enjoying the weather! The light reflecting off the water took my breath away. Plus, there were so many dogs – an extra bonus! ;)

Valentines Day came and went without a mishap. My sisters and I made breakfast in bed for my mom and we each got a little bouquet of flowers from our dad. On the 16th, I spent the day writing letters and making cards for my friends and family. And the next day, I went to my first college visit – very exciting.

Then came the big mountain trip! We spent three days in the cool weather with rivers and plenty of trees to sit by. (I even made a video about it. Watch it here.) I ended up spending a lot of time writing which was really fun for me. It’s been a while since I’ve taken the time to let my dreams take shape in writing form. ;) Our short trip in the mountains was a fun one and I can’t wait to go back.

February closed with lots of flowers; flowers in my friends’ hair, flowers in vases, flowers outside, flowers everywhere! I love how such little things like flowers can brighten up the world. :)

I also tried to continue the Photo A Day Challenge this month but then I missed a day. Still, I was able to take some really pretty pictures. Here are some of my favorites. :)

Other Things I Loved

Beautiful right? How was your February? Is the weather getting warmer where you are?

“To-Bake List” – Hot Chocolate Edition

If you’re a fan of the Polar Express, than you’ll remember the song, “Hot Chocolate”, which is the song that’s stuck in my head right now. :) Anyway, hot chocolate is a big thing for me during the Christmas season but I thought, ‘What else can I do with hot chocolate to make other things more awesome? (awesomer? is that a word?)’. So I did some research and found these great recipes!

  1. Hot Chocolate Cookies – These cookies look really gooey and delicious.I’d love to try these with mini marshmellows instead of the big ones.
  2. Hot Chocolate French Toast – My sister loves french toast so this recipe is a must in my family. ;)
  3. Hot Chocolate Fudge – I think these are my favorite. They look so light and fluffy!
  4. Hot Fudge Cheesecake Brownies – Brownies + Cheescake + Fudge = BEST THING EVER! Okay so I know these don’t have hot chocolate in them but it has hot fudge which is just as good.
  5. Hot Chocolate Cake – This cake looks so amazing! My sister would totally eat it all in one sitting. XD

Don’t these look delicious! Let me know if you tried any of the recipes and how you liked them! Have a great day!

“To-Bake List” – Pumpkin Edition

Hey, guys! So it’s fall – my favorite season – and you know what that means. Yup, it’s pumpkin time!  I am a little bit late on this post because I wanted to actually bake the things on this list and then review them but because of some work being done in the kitchen, I decided to make a “To-Bake List”. Enjoy. :)

Cakes, Scavenger Hunts and Birthdays!

cbirthday15.PNG

Hey, everyone! I just had the most amazing day. Today was my sister’s birthday and I was on cake baking duty along with my other sister, E. After 5 long hours, lots of frosting making and fondant rolling, we finally finished.

And of course, it had to be pink because it’s her favorite color. C invited her two friends over for a sleepover. After a quick tour around the house, they sat at the table (covered with a pink table cover) and decorated pillow cases as well as flip flops with rhinestones.

While I finished up my homework, the guests watch a movie. When it was over,  E and I ran around the house setting up the scavenger hunt. Each card had a clue leading to the next card. Every few cards, we were redirected to the kitchen to compete in one of the six challenges.

These were the challenges.

  1. Create a rainbow loom bracelet with 13 bands using only your fingers. Whoever finishes first, wins.
  2. Tissue box challenge: each person receives a full tissue box. With one hand behind their back, they must try to empty all of the tissues from the box first. This was really fun but also made quite a pile to clean up.
  3. Cotton Ball Challenge: There is one bowl filled with cotton balls and one empty bowl. The player is blindfolded and must use a spoon to spoon the cotton balls into the empty bowl which is on the player’s head.
  4. Oreo Taste Guess: The players are all blindfolded and given different flavors of Oreos (or any other cookie). They must try to guess the flavor of the Oreo.
  5. Tissue Box Shake: Take an empty tissue box and put a couple balls in it. Tie the box around yourself with the box on your back. On go, shake until all of the balls are out of the box.
  6. Place an Oreo on your forehead. On go, use only your face muscles to move the Oreo down to your mouth. If you drop it, you must start over.

When the scavenger hunt was over, C opened her presents and we had cake. We also enjoyed our goody bags which included lotion, a hand mirror, and a small notepad or chalkboard.

About that this time, my parents headed to bed and I turned in my homework while everyone else painted their nails. And then came the late night movie and snack fest. The girls were snuggled on the couch and E was in the corner and I sat on the chair trying so hard not to fall asleep. Around 1:00 am we headed upstairs. I was knocked out but from what I heard, C and her friends didn’t fall asleep until 4:00 am. When I woke up, C’s friends had already left and I heard some amazing words. “This was the best birthday ever.”

I had so much fun today! Special thanks to my uncle for buying me the cake set and to my sister for helping me plan and create this birthday party. Also to the birthday girl herself, because without her, I wouldn’t have had so much fun today. Here are some of the riddles. If you know the answer, comment in the box down below.

Riddles:

1) I get bigger when I eat, but die when I drink. What am I?

2) This machine spins food and drinks around. When it’s on, it makes a loud sound. What is it?

3) Your next clue isn’t hard, no biggie. Find it where there are clothes for your piggies.

4) Most keys open door but mine only make a sound. What am I?

5) Some take me in the morning, others take me in the evening. But one thing you should know when I’m ‘taken’ I don’t really go anywhere. What am I?
