Happy Monday! May you find rest in the busyness of life. May you find a quiet moment to breathe in His peace and to gather up strength to keep going. I hope you know that you can. I pray you believe that your worth a break.

Blessed to have a family that preaches the Word to me daily, a family that reminds of the Truth. There are few things that I love more than just spending a couple of days with my family, especially during stressful weeks of school. Do you have any family traditions?

Tuesdays are some of my favorite days on campus. I love having the opportunity to come together as a community to worship the Lord in the midst of the confusion that studying in college can bring. RUF and similar ministries have been such an encouragement! I remember freshman year, just not having the energy to leave my room to go “people.” I was so afraid of being drained and misunderstood. I thought I wasn’t good enough, not worthy of letting go of burdens. But, as I’ve learned to let go and trust God, I’ve urged myself to go regularly. Now I look forward to those couple of hours when I can commune in the midst of His glory. Because worship isn’t about hiding away until you feel “good enough” or “perfect,” it’s about learning to say, “I’m not perfect and that’s okay.” Because at the end of the day, He will love you just the same. Do you have Sunday School, mission groups, or community Bible studies that you look forward to every week? How do you go even when it’s tiring?

Here in the fog, I can find clarity. Here in the wandering, I can find a path. Here in the questioning, I can find peace. ———— Life comes with lots of questions. It comes with unexplained circumstances and unanswerable questions. We search for stability and security in our most difficult moments. But God calls us to faith. In Job’s most unstable moments, he asked God for answers-he demanded God to explain Himself. How did He answer? “Where were you? Where were you when I created the world?” God stared down Job’s hurt and got to the root of the problem. “You want answers but who are you to understand them?” It’s a humbling lesson to learn to be okay with the unknown. It requires true trust and faith in Him, leaning on God and believing that He has it under control and that He is doing it all for good. “I want to feel better!” Job had cried. But God looked at him and said, “find better in Me. Find hope in Me. Find security in Me.” Where are you searching for truth? Where are you searching for hope and peace and strength? He is greater than our doubts. He is greater than our questions. He is greater and more worthy than our understanding. Do you believe that?

Finding out where God is leading me has been such a rollercoaster of an experience. There have been times of absolute trust and times when I’m so confused. There have been times when God opens doors and the calling is clear and there have been times when doors are closed and I feel as if I’m stuck. But, one thing I’ve been learning is that God’s delays are not God’s denials. My friend calls those times of unknown trusting “faith walks.” Sometimes we have to walk in trust even when the end of the path is completely closed off. Sometimes we get redirected. Sometimes we get lost. And sometimes we get to where we want to go. But every time, we get to where we NEED to go. Lessons come in the walk. Which path do you find yourself today? Are you trusting Him to lead you to where you need to be?

Sometimes taking a step back helps clarify a stressful moment. This year, I’m facing a lot of change. It’s overwhelming to look at it all and hear the questions rattling around in my mind. What if it doesn’t work out? What if I make the wrong decision? What if I’m wrong? What if I’m rejected? What if I have to start all over? All of those questions create so much noise. It can be exhausting. But, when we step back, we can get a better perspective. Christ calls us to look towards Him when the going gets tough. He says, “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” (Matthew 11:28-29) Jesus is saying, “I know it’s hard but I will give you rest. Don’t look at the burden. Look at Me.” He’s asking us to trade our burdens for His, knowing that when we obey and move forward in serving Him, He gives us everything we need. It’s hard to let go of control, to trust God for the future. But it’s harder to go through life on our own. In what way do you need to trust Him? What do you need to trade in order to receive His rest?
