Faith in the Storms (Guest Post)

guestpost-renae

Hello everyone! I am Renae from www.renaesfight4recovery.wordpress.com

Today I wanted to talk about having strong faith in God when through the storms of life.

Lately, life has been throwing me some curveballs. I have been diagnosed with bipolar, depression, anxiety, and social (you can read all about my journey with mental illness on my blog). I have also just been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. So lately I have been in a lot of pain and my faith has been weak. But, I know I can have strong faith in God even through the storms of life. You, too, can have strong faith in God, no matter what.

Faith in God lately has been difficult. With my fibromyalgia being so bad, I can barely walk. But, I had a moment with Him, when His goodness just overwhelmed me. I prayed and prayed. It was so hard. But He told me: “Keep going. You can do this. Don’t give up. I am here.” I knew it was Him and His words were true. I knew then, He is faithful and true. I can have strong faith even when I am in the storms of life.

You can have faith that you will get through the trials too. You can overcome with God by your side (John 16:33). Put your faith in God because He is faithful and true (1 Corinthians 1:9). He will always be there for you, no matter what you have done. You can have strong faith in that He is God and He is good. No matter what you are going through, you can always go to God. You can always run into His loving, helping, and comforting arms (Psalm 91:4). He loves you so much.

You can have strong faith in God by praying to Him and asking for faith. Most importantly, you can have strong faith by believing in Him, that He is good, that He is faithful, and that He is true. You can trust God because He won’t let you down.

Reach out and put your faith in God! He will strengthen you. He will give you peace, joy, hope, and faith. Go to God, and I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Traveling, Surgery, and A Life Update

Hey, everyone! Did you miss me? I am so so sorry that I haven’t posted! Life has been pretty crazy. But I’m back with a ton of new posts for you! First, I’ll catch you up on everything with a life update.

Travels and Adventures

At the end of June, my family and I took a trip to Europe for a couple of weeks to spend time with my grandparents and other family members. We spent a lot of time in Belgium and Holland but we also took a road trip to Germany to get a clock repaired. I had so much fun and met so many cool people. I am working on a travel journal to post soon so keep an eye out for that!

Surgery and Recovery

Monday morning, I woke up bright and early for the surgery on my arm. I was pretty nervous especially since during the nights leading up to the surgery I had nightmares. But, everything went well and I got to go home before lunch so it was fine! The rest of the day I spent sleeping.

On Tuesday, one of my best friends came over to visit me and cheer me up. She even attempted to clean my room for me which was actually really funny. Even so, she helped get my mind off of my arm and the hours I spent feeling useless.

Yesterday, my other best friend came over with her mom and her brothers. She also brought chocolate and flowers so it was a good day! ;) She helped to brighten up my day a bit and I am grateful for that.

Today, I can use my arm a bit more (enough to write some posts) and it doesn’t hurt. I’m planning on taking the rest of the week slow and careful. I am so glad that my arm is healing and that I will be able to use it normally again soon. This whole week has made me feel much more grateful for a healthy and functioning body.

So that’s my quick life update! I’ll be posting a Travel Journal from my Europe trip in a couple of days. Also, this is completely random but, I’m wondering what are your favorite brands for backpacks? Let me know in the comments below; it’ll help me a lot. :)
