What It Means To Me

This song is a fun upbeat reminder that nothing is impossible with God and involves trust in God on our part. He can do so much more through us than we think; He can still do what is impossible to us.

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

What It Means To Me

Water is a funny thing in music. It can be portrayed as refreshing and it can be portrayed as overwhelming. I love this song because it reminds me that, even though life can be hard and stressful, if we turn to God, things become refreshingly better.

What It Means To Me

I first heard this song when I watched God’s Not Dead. I feel like this is a really encouraging song and reminds me that God is always there. There really isn’t much else to say except that I love this song. What do you think about it?

What It Means To Me

This song was a song that we used to sing a lot at church. It was especially meaningful to me because it explained how God has worked in my life, both physically and spiritually. God led me to a safe family into which I could be adopted and He led me to His Son through whom I can be adopted into His Kingdom. This song speaks to both sides and that’s why I love it. :)

The Song

What It Means To Me

One of my best friends recommended this song for me. She told me that this song reminded her of me. While this song doesn’t have any lyrics, I wanted to include “White Sails” by Marcus Warner in this challenge because it is a very special song to me. Let me know what you think about the song!

August Favorites

Hey, everyone! How was your weekend? I spent my weekend in the mountains. We went hiking to a waterfall and then had a picnic dinner. It was a lot of fun! Here are my monthly favorites for August. :)

Screen Shot 2016-02-04 at 8.58.13 AM

  1. Going back to school! – This year I made the big switch from homeschooling to private schooling and I love it! It’s been a big learning experience but I’m exactly where I’m meant to be. :)
  2. Group Me (app) – I was introduced to this app by my friends from school and it’s great. It allows you to group message people even if they don’t have smartphones or the app.
  3. More traveling I feel like every time I post a monthly favorite, I include some sort of traveling experience. This month we went to FL. (read more here)
  4. A cappella – I decided to try something new this year so I joined my school’s a cappella group. It’s super fun and a great way to meet new people. I’m looking forward to our first performance.
  5. Photography Class – This year, I’m taking a photography class. I’ve already learned so much and I can’t wait to share my pictures with you all. :)
  6. The Selection Stories by Kiera Cass
  7. Sparrows by Jason Grey
  8. Something Wild by Lindsey Stirling (feat. Andrew McMahon In The Wilderness)
  9. Isaiah 26:3 – “You keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You.” (read my comments on this verse here)
  10. 1 Thessalonian 5:18 – “give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

The Little Engine Tag

Hey everyone! I was tagged by Allie M from The Wondrous Life Of Allie M to participate in The Little Engine Tag. Go check out her blog here and her version of the post here.

The Rules

  • Each answer you give to a question has to be more than two sentences long. Or at the very least, you have to make those two sentences meaningful.
  • There will be two bonus questions at the end, that the blogger gets to change to whatever they want to ask when they nominate someone else. The first six questions, however, are set in stone.
  • At the end you must nominate three to five other bloggers. Okay, so you don’t have to, but that would be nice if you could. (I want my blog name to spread on for all of eternity.)
  • You know how sometimes in quiet classrooms, there will be that one guy clicking his pen fifty times a second, and it’s annoying to everyone else? Yeah, don’t be that guy. This doesn’t apply to this tag so much, but more to life in general.

Questions And Answers

  1. What’s one of your biggest pet peeves? Disrespect is my biggest pet peeve. I believe that everyone should be treated with respect regardless of gender, race, age, or religion.
  2. What is your favorite song at the moment? My favorite song at the moment is “I mean you” by Hunter Hayes. I just think it’s a cute song. Hunter is one of my favorite artists and I am teaching myself to play some of his songs on the piano so that’ll be fun! :)
  3. Who is your favorite blogger? This is a tough questions since I don’t really have a favorite blogger, but I do love Coffee & Twigs written by Sam and Kelly. Also Eclectic Ellen has an amazing blog! I love her posts as well. Ooh! And Miekeey has a beautiful blog too! She posts devotionals everyday that I love reading. She’s is probably my favorite blogger.
  4. What’s the nicest thing you’ve seen someone do recently? Well, my sister brought me cake yesterday. Does that count? :D
  5. What’s something you regret doing? I regret not keeping in touch with people over the years. I had some really good friends in elementary and middle school that I wish I could still talk to now. I think about them often.
  6. If you could take only three items with you to a desert island, what would they be, and why? I would bring my family, a book on how to survive on a desert island, and water because those seem like necessary things. And how can I survive without my family?
  7. Explain the meaning behind your blog title. Well the name, Life As A Homeschooled Teen, is pretty self-explanatory. I started this blog to share how being homeschooled can be different from the typical stereotypes. I also wanted to share different Christian posts and that’s how I came up with the blog. I haven’t posted much about my school life but I have a couple of posts about that planned for August, so keep an eye out for those!
  8. What is one memory that makes you smile? Anything with my family makes me smile but family and traveling memories make me smile more. I remember when I visited Chicago for the first time. It was my first time on a plane and it was wonderful. We visited many friends. Everyone was so nice! I think my favorite part was sitting by the window watching the snow fall and then being visited by the hotel’s candy man.

Tag! You’re It!

  1. Teen Girl Meets World
  2. Just Another James
  3. What Makes Me Amber
  4. And anyone else who wants to do this tag!

Well, that’s it for today. Hope you all have a great day!

April Favorites

April is over and May has begun and with the days the May brings, the end of school draws closer and closer. As I prepare for this month, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on what April had to bring. Screen Shot 2016-02-04 at 8.56.50 AM

  1. Drawing sessions with my sis – My sister is a great artist. She has been helping me work on my sketches. It makes for a great bonding time. :)
  2. Walks with my family – Honestly, doing anything with my family is pretty fun and the weather was beautiful so bonus! :)
  3. Faith Floral Dayspring Journal – A very good friend gave this beautiful journal to me. I am using it now for my bullet journal and absolutely love it because it has Bible verses on the bottom of every page!
  4. We Are Yours by I Am They (song) – This is such an uplifting and upbeat song.
  5. Café Mochas from Panera Bread – Yum!
  6. Painting Pottery – For my sister’s birthday, we went to a pottery shop and painted pottery. It was a very hard trying to decide which to pick out of the hundreds of items to choose from. XD
  7. Scarf from Areopostle – Don’t remember when I got it but it goes pretty great with my Sunday dress. :)
  8. Essie’s Play Date Nail Polish – It’s a super cute purple color which is also one of my favorite colors. :)
  9. todoist.com – I use this website for my to-do list. This is a big help since it has a daily goal and points.
  10. Psalms 16:11 – ““You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”

April was a very busy month but it brought happiness and joy to my family and myself. What did you love about April? Let me know in the comments below! I’d love to hear from you. :)
