What It Means To Me

This song is a fun upbeat reminder that nothing is impossible with God and involves trust in God on our part. He can do so much more through us than we think; He can still do what is impossible to us.

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Christmas Songs I Love Listening To

Happy day 4 of December! It still doesn’t feel like December to me but I guess I’ll get used to it the closer it gets to Christmas. Here are some Christmas songs that I love listening to around this time of year.

christmassongs

Carol of the bells – Straight No Chaser

Christmas is here, Bringing good cheer to young and old, Meek and the bold
Ding, dong, ding, dong, That is their song, With joyful ring, All caroling

The Christmas Can-Can – Straight No Chaser

It’s time to do the Christmas can-can, If you can’t, can’t dance, well, that’s OK (not going to do the kick line). All you need is a tree, some lights about a thousand presents, wrap them up and pray for snow. Run to your closet, find your Christmas sweater screaming carols all the way (fa-la-la-la-la). Maine all the way to California it’s the Christmas can-can Halloween to Christmas day

The 12 Days of Christmas – Straight No Chaser

On the 9th day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, 9 ladies dancing, 8 ladies dancing, 7 ladies dancing, 6 ladies dancing, 5! Better not shout, you better not cry, You better not, in a pear tree. On the 9th, No! On the 8th, No! On the 7th day of Christmas, my true love gave to me 7 swans a-swimming, 6 geese a-laying, 5 golden rings! (Fa la la la)

Hold On Christmas – MercyMe

The colder it gets outside, The more it warms my soul. Christmas is on my mind, I just gotta make it home. It won’t be long β€˜till I am singing to the rhythm of the Salvation Army bell ringing, But this road keeps going for miles and miles. Oh please get me there on time.

I Heard The Bells On Christmas Day – Casting Crowns

Then rang the bells more loud and deep, God is not dead, nor doth He sleep (Peace on Earth, peace on Earth), The wrong shall fail, the right prevail With peace on earth, good will to men, Then ringing singing on its way The world revolved from night to day, A voice, a chime, a chant sublime, Of peace on earth, good will to men

Joy – 1 Girl Nation

I hear the carols on the radio. So turn it up and let the whole world know. Because I’ve got a love that’s so There is no greater joy. I hear it in the bells they’re ringing up and down the street. I see it shining in the smiles of everyone I meet. It feels to me like hope is stirring with the winter wind. Heaven has sent us a savior. What a night there is no greater!

The Chipmunk Song – Alvin & The Chipmunks

Christmas, Christmas time is near, Time for toys and time for cheer, We’ve been good, but we can’t last, Hurry Christmas, hurry fast, Want a plane that loops the loop, Me, I want a hula hoop, We can hardly stand the wait, Please Christmas, don’t be late.

Ding Dong Merrily On High – Rend Collective

Ding Dong! Ding Dong! Ding Dong! Ding Dong! Ding Dong merrily on high, The curse of sin is broken: Ding Dong open up your eyes, The celebration’s starting! Gloria, Hosanna in excelsis! Gloria, Hosanna in excelsis!

Merry Christmas Everyone – Rend Collective

C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S I-S-T-M-A-S Yes it’s Christmas! Snow is Falling, All around me, Children Playing, Having Fun, It’s the Season, Of Love and understanding, Merry Christmas Everyone.

Shout For Joy – Lincoln Brewster

He was strong to save, Now our Savior reigns in us, Shout for joy, For the Son of God Is the Saving One, He’s the Saving One, Shout for joy, See what love has done, He has come for us, He’s the Saving One

What songs do you like listening to during the Christmas season? Let me know! I’d love to hear from you!

November Favorites

Hey, everyone! How are you? November flew by so quickly! But it’s December so that’s awesome! Anyway, here are some of the things I did this month and my favorite memories. :)

Screen Shot 2016-02-04 at 8.59.16 AM

  1. Thanksgiving with the family – Thanksgiving was a couple of days ago and it was awesome! My family hosted Thanksgiving lunch/dinner. My sister baked four different desserts and my mom made a huge turkey so I have lots of lucnhes for the next week.
  2. Β Field Trip with my Photography class – This month I went on a field trip to uptown with my photography class. I had so much fun hanging out with all of my classmates and taking pictures around the city. (Here’s the post I wrote on it.)
  3. My writing club – I joined a writing club at my school earlier this year. I was really nervous because I don’t normally share my creative writing but the group was really kind about everything and encouraged me to continue writing.
  4. Hanging with my Acafam – This month I had a big acappella performance and it was awesome!
  5. Self Portrait project – My photography teacher challenged our class to a 21 day self portrait story. Every day we had to take a picture of ourselves that told a story of another person and how they had changed us, challenged us, taught us ect. It was really hard for me but it was a lot of fun.
  6. Christmas Tree Shopping! – Every year, the day after Thanksgiving, my whole family goes to by a Christmas tree and then we come home and decorate it all together. It’s one of the things that I look forward to every winter. But there was something about this year that made the special “tree-day” better than the past ones. :)
  7. Hobby Lobby – I stopped by Hobby Lobby a couple of weeks ago to pick up some things for the upcoming giveaway (!!!) and saw some really cute things! I need to go to craft stores more often.
  8. Ding Dong Merrily On High by Rend Collective (song)
  9. Jesus, Savior by Chris August (song)
  10. Psalm 1:1-3 – “Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither – whatever they do prospers.”

How was your November? What are you looking foward to this December? (Besides Christmas of course) I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Music I’m Listening To

Hey, everyone! How are you? I’m doing great! I had an a cappella performance yesterday and it went really well! It was really fun hanging out with my acafam (a cappella family). Speaking of singing, here are some songs that I’m listening to.

The Way by Worship Central

“I was blind but these eyes have been opened, Now I walk in the light, Every step on this road, I will follow Jesus, You made a way… All my days are secure in Your promise, Never standing alone, You’re the Truth, You’re the Life, You’re my future Jesus, You made a way”

Who Care’s If We’re Dancing by OBB

“How great our God That he came for us, That he, that he came for us, ‘Cause the more we fall And the more we break, The more He shows us grace, So how could we just sit down With the love that we’ve found”

Brand New by Ben Rector

“Like when I close my eyes and don’t even care if anyone sees me dancing, Like I can fly, and don’t even think of touching the ground, Like a heartbeat skip, like an open page… It’s the way that I feel when I’m with you, brand new”

Trust You All The Way by About A Mile

“So when it feels like hope has come to an end, And I find myself in the lion’s den, I will face my fears knowing I’m not alone, And call out the giant with a sling and a stone singing, I trust in You, trust in You, When it’s hard to say, I trust in You, trust in You, Trust you all the way”

We Are One by Chelsea Hathaway

“He’s adopted us, He calls us His daughters, calls us His sons, We’re children of the Most High God, Called to love, called to be One, We look to Your cross, look to Your cross at all times, Help us to love as You love, We are one, we’re one”

Here Is Our Savior by Chelsea Hathaway

“You came as a tiny Child, away from the Father’s side, waitingnn for the coming time, when You could give Your life for mine, Holy Child at Your feet we fall, Jesus Christ, You are Lord of all, the Child in the mager is God, Here is our Savior.”

Take My Heart by Tom Smith

“Oh, Savior of my soul, You have made me whole, Savior of my soul, Your love has conquered all, take my heart, I’m Yours, forever Yours.”

What songs are you listening to right now? Let me know! I’d love to hear from you! I hope you have a great day!

October Favorites

Hey, everyone! October has (almost) ended and I couldn’t be happier because that means that we are one month closer to Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years! Yay! This month has been super busy but I have loved every little bit of it. I took some big steps and stretched myself by doing things I didn’t think I would ever do (like going to my FIRST DANCE). This month also included my 2-year blogiversary! (read more about that here)

Screen Shot 2016-02-04 at 8.58.59 AM

  1. Blackout poetry – Blackout poetry was something that I found on Pinterest and wanted to try. It is relaxing to me somehow and I like making new things out of older ones so this is perfect.
  2. Getting 200 followers! – I reached 200! This makes me so happy that there are so many people that are willing to read my blog posts and take the time to listen. Many many thanks to all of you!
  3. My first homecoming dance! – I went to my very first dance a couple of weeks ago and I am SO glad I went! I was invited by two friends of mine to go with a bigger group to dinner the day of the dance but when the reservations were messed up, we decided to go together. We were also able to convince three more of our friends to go with us. We had a blast! My tip for your first dance: don’t make any kind of expectations beforehand. This helped me to relax and be flexible.
  4. Gigi’s Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cupcake – There are cookies. There are cookie doughs. And there are cupcakes. But this, this is heaven or really close to it. If there is a Gigi’s Cupcakery close to you, you NEED to try this!
  5. Posh Thomas Kinkade Painter Of Light Coloring Book – My grandparents gave this coloring book to me and I think it’s really cool. I like seeing the original picture with the coloring page.
  6. Celebrating my 2-year blogiversary! – My mother was AMAZING and cleared out her whole day just to make me a pie and decorate the kitchen for my blogiversary. (read more about my journey here)
  7. Sundress by Landon Austin (song)
  8. Alone by Marshmello (song)
  9. Yesterday’s Song by Hunter Hayes (song)
  10. 1 John 2:2 – “He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.”

How was your October? Do you have any plans for November?

July Favorites

Hey everyone! How are you all? I am doing great! Ready for school to start soon? I’m so excited! Before we get to that, let me take a minute to think back on this past month.

Hillsong Concert

hillsongcencert

Hey, everybody! So this week I went to a Hillsong Concert and it was a blast!

Hillsong ConcertThe Christian band played a couple of songs before breaking for messages. Compassion International played a short video about a child who needed and received a sponsor. It was a touching video and I was glad to see so many people asking for sponsor cards.Β JESUSAfter the messages, Paster Brian Houston presented a message about happiness. While I didn’t agree withΒ some of the points he made, I feel that it was a good message for those just starting out in the Christian faith.Β IMG_0254The night ended with a praise dance party. It was a blast and my friends and I enjoyed dancing to songs like Relentless and Wake.Β IMG_0277The concert was a lot of fun and I am glad that I went. I would go again if I had the chance and I was grateful that I was able to spend that night with two of my amazing friends.
