Hey, guys! Sorry I haven’t written these past weeks. I have literally been doing school this entire time. Anyways, today I’ve decided to post about a day in the life of a homeschooler, my typical Monday. This was suggested by two of my followers, Lisa H. and Grace J.
8:00 – My morning begins as I get dressed and ready for school. I try to open my blinds and make my bed as soon as I wake up so that I can start my day looking at the beautiful (and sometimes cloudy) sky.
8:15 – I eat my breakfast with my parents. We usually talk about the plans for the day and what we have for the week. I also check the news for highlights and conversation starters. If needed, I will also finish up some last minute homework before my class starts.
9:30 – My first class begins. I am taking a Logic course that lasts for 85 minutes.
11:00 – My hour and a half break starts. I normally check my email and, if I don’t need to finish homework, I will bake something. I love baking cookie cakes but my sisters love the pumpkin chocolate chip muffins that I make more frequently, now that it’s fall.
12:30 – My Pre. Calculus class starts and around this time, my mom brings me lunch.
2:00 – My final class for the day, French, begins. I feel that this class ends far too quickly. :)
3:30 – I’ve finally finished all of my classes, so to reward myself, I have a snack break. Sometimes, if I have time, I’ll also have a piano break. This is also the time that I tell my mom about my day. She loves hearing my stories and knowing what the teachers are teaching me.
4:00 – Around 4, I start doing my homework for the next day. My homework partner is the Christian Genre Radio or the Indie Worship playlist on Spotify.
6:00 – My sisters come home from their play practice and I greet them happy and ready to hear their stories. We sit around the kitchen island and take turn asking and answering questions before they start on their homework.
6:30 – My dad gets home from work and my family sits down to dinner. I love being able to have a meal together as a family and hear about each other’s day. Plus, my mom is a great cook and that makes dinner time a lot better. :)
7:10 – I check the news again and maybe play piano.
7:30 – I continue to work on the homework that never ends. I will take a break every now and then just to keep myself focused on the task at hand.
9:45 – Exhausted, I head upstairs to get ready for bed. I like to pick out my outfit the night before to save time in the mornings. I also take a shower at night so that I can just get up and go in the mornings.
10:30 – Unless I am absolutely too tired to read, I will read a chapter in my Bible. I am going through a reading plan on the YouVersion app called “The One Year ® Bible”. It gives you a chapter from a couple of books to go through. You can follow me by searching the username: “AbiLeah” on the YouVersion app.
11:00 – My day finally ends, as I turn off the light. I try not to go to bed any later than 11.
Thank you so much for reading! This was a great idea and I like being able to actually see my schedule out on paper (or on a blog post). I hope you have a great day and a great week!
